Kaede is a boy in the throes of adolescence. One day, he hears a rumor: "Don't get on the train to Hokkaido after midnight." Like any teenager his age, Kaede thinks it's nonsense, and after a night out with his friends, he boards the empty, deserted train, since the rumor had spread among the students
As the hours pass, the train keeps stopping at stations, and when it finally stops, he finds himself in a world of ancient Japan filled with monsters, and a strange boy-girl named Mitoki.
